The Go(o)d meeting weeks focus on meeting God and meeting each other. Inspiring studies and beautiful moments of encounter make these weeks special and important. This takes shape by meeting each other for studies with a warm cup of coffee and a biscuit, walking together and taking time for a good conversation. The Good Encounters evenings – with time for games and socialising – and the well-known Friday afternoon lunch are regular features of these weeks.
Various stories have shown that meeting each other is of great added value. We look forward to meeting God and meeting each other!
Born in Haarlem (1967) and raised in Heemstede and Bennebroek, I came to a living faith in 1981 through the work of Youth for Christ, after which I found deeper meaning in the Church of the Nazarene in Haarlem.
After completing my HAVO (1985) and MEAO (1986) education, I attended a DTS course run by Youth With A Mission after being deeply touched by the Holy Spirit a year earlier (1986-1987). There I met Agnes and we got married in 1991, after which we became involved in a charismatic church in Haarlem.
After years of running a small administrative office as a self-employed person, I began studying evangelical theology at Tyndale Theological Seminary in Badhoevedorp in 2009 (M.Div., 2013) and started leading my first congregation in Heerenveen in 2012.
Today, I am involved in various congregations as a pastor and advisor, I teach, and I feel a compulsion to help people walk more deeply with God.
From the moment He first took hold of me, the Holy Spirit has played an important role in my life, which is why I feel at home in a charismatic church. But I also enjoy speaking in churches of a different persuasion, where the Holy Spirit is just as appreciated but experienced differently, resulting in different expressions. I have been involved in interdenominational relationships since my teenage years.
